Z sales grow in the US, not looking so good in Oz

Nissan's new coupe isn't everybody's cup of Z (okay that only works if you're American), but you could say it's just keeping to form.
It seems to be working for folks in the US, at least, with second-quarter 2025 sales coming to 1635 – a 108% boost over the previous quarter.
Why? Who knows, but it could be that a lot of Americans are starting to think they'd better leap on that midlife crisis while they've still got a life.
In Australia, where the cost of living hurts as much as anywhere else but there's at least no imminent civil war to consider, the Z isn't doing so well: 92 sales year-to-date, compared to 204 for the same period in 2024.
Good reviews here from some old workmates

There's always a "everybody who was going to buy one has bought one" aspect to lifestyle cars, although the aging ND MX-5 finished June on 421 sales in Australia – 40% better than at the same point last year.
Of course, it's easy to put the Z's pain down to the explosive launch of the new Mustang, racking up a huge 2859 sales year-to-date – 66% of sports car sales below $90K.
Perhaps, if Nissan had developed a new platform for the Z instead of reworking the 370Z, its fortunes would look a little more like the massive success the R35 GT-R saw over its lifetime.

Sorry the charts are only images; I'm not ready to pay for interactive charts! 😂
