Video: Acura's RSX badge returns on, surprise, an SUV!

The original RSX replaced the Acura-badged Integra in America before fading out of the line-up. It's back, with few surprises.

Honda’s luxury brand Acura is reviving the RSX nameplate that long ago replaced the Integra, which itself has also now been reborn as a tough new sedan.

This resurrected RSX will test fans' nostalgia, though, as the new model is an electric coupe SUV – a far cry from its liftback coupe predecessor.

Previewed by the RSX Prototype revealed today, the production version is slated to launch in the second half of 2026.

I actually really like the look of it. Yeah it’s yet another coupe-styled SUV, but some do look the part, and I reckon this is one of them.

Although, as my mate Blake says

To be honest, I’d forgotten the Eletre exists. Can you blame me?

On a technical level, this new RSX is especially significant because it’ll be the first model to use Honda’s new global EV architecture, unlike the ZDX and Honda Prologue SUVs that ride on GM-sourced hardware.

As befits its sporting intent, the RSX will get dual electric motors for all-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension setup with double wishbones at the front, and Brembo brakes.

In this ‘pre-production’ form, the concept gets 21-inch alloy wheels, flush-mounted door handles, and a fastback-style bum with a ducktail spoiler and full-width taillights.

As with all Acura models, don’t expect to see this one in Australia.

Honda seems to have no interest in expanding Acura beyond North America, and the new RSX will be built at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio.

For pricing, it’ll be positioned below the larger ZDX, which currently starts at the equivalent of $100K AUD.

Watch for the RSX concept to make its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend.
