Art: Ricardo Santos
Plenty of artists can draw a car. But it takes someone who lives and breathes the fumes to capture its soul.

Every now and then, you find automotive art that does more than just replicate a car's shape.
It captures a feeling, ready and begging to replace your wife's favourite cottage painting above the couch.
Ricardo Santos, a Portuguese designer and illustrator, nails this. His work, focused on the golden eras of Formula 1 and rallying, has a distinct retro style that feels authentic because it is.

To his credit, Santos is also a rally co-driver who has designed for names like AutoSport, Ferrari, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
His background in award winning newspaper design informs his clean, graphic style, creating something instantly compelling.
His work isn't cheap, especially as you'll also want to have it framed right after you extract it from its postal tube, but it looks sweet.
