Hot Wheels: 240Z Custom is the latest 'Red Line Club' edition

These RLC specials come out way too often. I will never financially recover from this.
Hot Wheels: 240Z Custom is the latest 'Red Line Club' edition

Honestly, the body kit and colour on this one are a bit over-the-top for my tastes, but... yeah okay, this looks damn good.

The finish on this little S30 is the classic Spectraflame Olive, but I'd probably call it Mountain Dew if I were just going off these photos.

As for the body kit, the nerdier among you might recognise it as being inspired by actor Sung Kang's own 240Z, known as the Fugu Z.

The Red Line Club page doesn't mention it, but it looks like this Z is powered by the special Z432 model's S20 engine, rather than the L24 you'd find in the regular Z.

My fave detail though has gotta be those gold Watanabe-style wheels wrapped in period-appropriate 'Real Riders' fat rubber.

That's the Z done properly, right there. (If I see another S30 on huge wheels, I will absolutely have a breakdown.)

This isn't the first time Hot Wheels has used this casting for a Red Line Club model, but since they all sell only for a limited time, this blacked-out BRE variant – definitely the one I'd rather have – is long gone.

Likewise this Chameleon edition (Youtube) with a Greddy engine and , but I'm for sure not paying $200 on eBay for one...

It goes on sale next week, priced in Australia at $48.

Of course, you'll need the annual RLC membership (US$9), and shipping to Oz will sting you around $30 in Aussie bucks.

And, actually, that Australian price is already a rip – the US price is $28 USD, which converts to A$42, so we're getting a shitty deal even before you add shipping into the mix.

So, yeah. You've gotta really want these things to put up with those sorts costs, but, hey. Hobbies are hobbies, right?

Check it out here on the RLC site.
