Callum's got a 2001 Vanquish Shooting Brake to sell you

If you loved the 'Jet 2' concept Bertone unveiled way back in 2004, and you happen to have squillions, this is the custom build for you.
Callum's got a 2001 Vanquish Shooting Brake to sell you

I'm in love with this Vanquish reimagined as a shooting brake by the car's original designer, Ian Callum.

It ain't perfect, but it ain't far off: my only real gripe with the Vanquish has always been where the rear quarter blistering drops off sharply at the door – but since that's probably an engineering issue under the skin, I'll happily overlook it.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Vanquish has been given the wagon treatment. Keen observers will remember the Bertone Jet 2 concept from 2004. But where that was an external coachbuilder’s take, this new version comes from the car’s original pen, giving it a unique sense of legitimacy.

Alas, Callum's go is also just a concept, based on the Vanquish 25 coupe he unveiled in 2019 – but the team says they'll build it for any cashed-up collector.

Apart from the altered profile, Callum's firm has given the 2001 Vanquish the update it deserves.

The front end is tidied up with modernised headlights and a more aggressive intake setup – again, carried over from the 2019 car – but of course the real statement is the sweeping panoramic glass roof that forms that shooting brake silhouette.

Underneath, the proposal is just as convincing. If brought to reality for a customer, the 6.0-litre V12 would be tickled to produce around 432kW, thanks to revised cams and a carbon intake. The chassis gets a similar going-over with Bilstein dampers, carbon ceramic brakes, and a wider track.

I'd happily take the 2019 Vanquish 25 over the current model, which is frankly pretty fuggers, but I'd take this wagonised beauty over both of 'em.

There's no price yet for the shooting brake, but picking up a Vanquish 25 back in 2019 was a million-dollar prospect.
